What kind of combat do you want?

    Tab-target? Soft-targeting? Adaptive? True Action?...
    So many options, but what would YOU like to see the most?

    I'm personally hoping to see True Action combat, a bit similar to TERA, where it's very mechanic heavy.
    Dodging, aiming etc. is what makes a combat system truly enjoyable for me, and I hope to see this in A:IR as well.

    Personally, I'm hoping for just solid combat like BDO. Flows well and pretty decently skilled based.

    Free-Aiming but with a slower pace than BDO without too many glowing spells would entirely be to my taste.

    BDO style or Tera but from the trailer i doubt its BDO like there is 100% some sort of aim assist (not lock),other than that i am up for Action based combat PvP should be all about personal skill

    If they put a lot of love and care into it, there's a lot I'm alright with. Generally my favorites are on the sliding scale of GW2 → BDO where you feel more active/present in what you're doing. I haven't actually played TERA, but I've heard good things about it so I've got faith we'll get something fun.

    Based on what we see during 0:56 and 4:26 in the trailer, it doesn't seem to be tab targeting in PvE or PvP in this stage of development.
    Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but there's actually aim assistance in BDO as well. (Example. Another example.) In the second one you can see where the spell is going (the weasel) vs. where I'm aiming (the ground away from it).

    Personally. I like how Revelation Online does it.

    You can switch between the modes you like.

    Ultimately it would lead to tab-targetting in bigger fights because of "point and click" but I thought it was neat to have options.

    Yeah not saying its bad,its light aim assist and it would kind of make sense concidering the type of the game but i am fine with it as long as its not hard lock on and pure advantage

    Tera all the way. Hands down the combat system I've enjoyed the most so far in any MMO I've played.
    I just hope they don't do any hybrid garbage like Revelation Online did because that usually doesn't turn out well especially for the "action combat" part of the system. It feels half assed, clunky and overall just not enjoyable.

    Though I feel like in Revelation it felt a bit meh, for all the combat styles... :[ Besides that'd give tab-target players an advantage in PvP, wouldn't it?

    I did like BDO's combat system, but to me it felt like just random button smashing after a while... I mean, the mobs still died so.. it worked?
    Besides, I'm just more about free-aim than having aim assist.

    How Revelation did it was pretty awful,

    Instead of throwing a bunch of clunky systems, games should work on their own unique combat, and make this 1 thing. not throwing in multiple systems because they can't be bothered to make something proper.

    You could say this about any video game like MOBAs, not just MMOs.

    It's all about the player experience. If it's fun and you enjoy it, you'll play it.

    I would prefer something akin to TERA's combat. I'll also second that the game should pick a single type of combat system and stick with it. Don't try to build the game with multiple systems in mind, it just gets messy

    I also hope that we don't get too many abilities per class. Nothing's worse than mindless fights because people don't have to be precise with timing and all that stuff. Failed a stun? Don't worry you have 10 others to spit out right after.
