Greetings Ascendants! This month we share with you some info about a few of the key players in the world of Ascent: Infinite Realm. The characters in A:IR have varied and intricate storylines and we hope you enjoy reading them as much as we did! Neyshar Neyshar belongs to the Ithea family and is the ruler of Nous, one of the three countries representing the continent of the Harth. When the catastrophe rose, the Ithea family led the Nous people in the escape of the Harth continent. After settling in the floating island, Neyshar named it Nousgard and became the ruler. Neyshar is a direct descendant of the Ithea family and is also the lord of present Nousgard, featuring the signature white hair of the family. Neyshar was low in order to be the monarch, but her older half brother and former ruler, Aevan Ithea was weak. He was addicted to gambling, abused taxes, and committed injustices and fell to corruption. Because of her older half-brother, Neyshar committed to being more strict and morally just. She quickly became revered by the people of Nous. Neyshar as with other Nous, acts with discretion without revealing her feelings but respects the ability to be inclusive with both the Vulpin and Ontari. Typically the monarch’s guard was usually awarded to a member of a high ranking family, but Neyshar instead appointed it to Kaymon who belonged to the Expedition Crew. Eve Eve is an Expedition Captain from the Vulpin and has a natural talent for Elementalist magic. Unlike the Nous who are raised with magic, the Vulpin and Ontari have typically evolved through technological means so having a magic user in their ranks is quite rare. When Eve first arrived for training, her instructor was in despair when he realized his abilities paled in comparison to hers. Eve understands her talents better than anyone and believes that power is a necessary responsibility and duty. At one time, she was offered status and fortune, but she refused it believing that she was obliged to use her talents for the expedition. At Nouse, Eve was taught that her abilities held a duty to protect all life. After all, Nous is a most sought after destination, especially for young explorers looking to learn magic. These days Eve spends a lot of her time with new explorers and helps them grow as members of the expedition. Lloyd Lloyd is a captain of the expedition crew from the Ontari who follows the name of the Nous family. It was uncommon in Nous, to have an Ontari in their ranks as they consider lineage very important. This is because when Lloyd was a cadet, and he saved the life of Egar Vissen, a head of the Vissen family. The story of Edgar and Lloyd goes as follows: Edgar Vissen was a technician who developed combat airships and siege weapons before the Vulpin and Ontari were joined Nousgard. At that time, Edgar was known for his reckless personality and was forced to do even the most dangerous tasks. The Lord at the time sent a few of the expeditions to the Vissen family, and when an explosive accident occurred during a weapons test, it was Lloyd who saved Edgar Vissen. Shortly thereafter, Edgar Vissen adopted the young Cadet. At first glance, although it seems reckless, Lloyd is a great warrior who the blood of Ontari of honor and trust. He quickly rose as a figurehead of flight combat and is respected by the expedition crew. He is a man of few words and instead takes action. Lloyd and Eve are great friends and see each other as important to the Expedition. Harath When Harath was in the auditorium as a cadet, he was revered in the eyes of the Ithea family, despite being Vulpin he was recruited into the Nous army. Typically only Nous were allowed and because of many of his colleagues grew jealous. He was a better soldier than anyone and excelled at any challenge put forth, but the Nous army was too narrow to expand his abilities. In the end, Harath left the Nous Army and changed his affiliation to the Expedition. It was with the Expedition Harath actively took the lead in exploration and punitive missions. While still a powerful soldier, Harath was now in the company of others equal or greater to his abilities. Despite this, he was still able to climb to the seat of Expedition Captain. Regarded as a competent and equitable captain to the public, he is now respected not only as a member of the Expedition but also to the Nous people. While Harath was in the Nous army, he fell in love with the Nous woman, Leah. Leah married him in opposition to her family, but their union would not last long due to her families constant protests. Despite this. they had a good relationship. They also had a daughter named Hanell who unfortunately fell to sickness and eventually passed. Leah would follow soon after. After this Harath became consumed with his duties and immersed himself in his work. Those who know Harath are in constant worry that the loneliness and despair of his past have taken an effect on his mind.
