Your partially right but mostly wrong...let me explain

Tera in KR dev and published by bluehole and enmasse did very well and lasted for well over 3 years without any major complaints. The reason is sub monthly game which was low amount btw. No cash shop, and had tons of pve and pvp content but most of all the pve content was a challenge with there "BAMS" which were larger than normal monsters with tons of hp and damage that were basically minibosses in the world you could level on with groups or duos and some classes solo. This promoted alot of team play just to grind rather than soloing. Also even your regular small mobs you grinded on were ELITES. There was on easy 2 shot mob or spin to win on a pack and clear mobs. This made the game interesting and last for a while cause the dungeons and the one raid were the same. You didnt just get to clear a dungeon your fist time around...it took a bit to clear the first hard dungeon and even longer for the raid. The raid wasnt cleared for almost a year. Now NA release is about to come out and BOOM they decided to nerf everything based on the cry babies for NA who want carebear mode. Comes to NA and its ok for a year but after that it goes f2p due to monthly subs running low cause everything was beat so easy that we were done in 3 to 6 months and they hadnt planned content for that since in KR it took over a 1 year to get to that stage. So f2p allowed all the gold sellers, botters, and retards to come in and destroy it after the first year....even then it wasnt to bad for the next 2 years and now its just ok still not bad.

Bluehole actually knows how to do things and run things so long as the players dont cry about stupid stuff and nerf stuff.

BDO was a diff story or started out as one anyways. Daum at the time published pear abyss KR bdo which in KR was a huge p2w money and time sink with very limited content yet it had a NICHE market of players and it survived...3 years later which is way to long it comes to NA and Daum swore they would not add any p2w features. @PM Jouska had made this very clear and he actually did stick to his word for the first 4 months. After that Kakao there sister and main company comes in with a profit and lose quarterly revenue sheet and sees sales are down with the b2p model so the big wigs decide to allow the cash shop items to be sold for ingame currency which would be fine for most BUT they didnt allow any previous cash shop items to be put on AH ... only new ones....this was there downfall. Yet this was never Jouskas fault or lie I could see that the whole way through and even now on BDO forums which i visit from time to time he does actually care but he is afterall not a executive or head person in charge over there. Cant blame him for everything just cause he is the face. Put the blame where the blame belongs on Kakao higher ups. He didnt support it when they announced it nor even now with alot going on over in BDO. But again he is a employee who only handles things in hid dept and can take it to proper channels but at the end of the day its not his call nor will it ever be unless he gets promoted to something of that nature.

BDO did fail and the 2nd biggest reason for losing sales was due to having NO pvp content and just pvp. That is not something you can do in todays market if you want everyone to play. If your looking for a niche thing then sure which is what kakao didnt expect and should have. you cant just grind mobs all day and pvp for the majority of the gaming community. They need dungeons, raids, better quests, events...things of that nature.

BDO failed in NA due to kakao's pride thinking the whole industry would be ok with just pvp LONG TERM and in fact its not. AIR is more suited for this mentality but BDO never was

If kakao learns from there mistakes AIR will do well if not then it will fail its that simple. Bluehole will be good in KR for a while as they have had alot of experience already with tera.

    just move lol

People really have passion here. I, for a fact, am quite excited and looking forward to this style game (at least at what it looks to be right now via releases). I will be keeping an eye on this website.

    Well appreciated.

The last word about business model has not been spoken yet. We will inform you about the details as soon as everything is set in stone.

Regarding languages: Kakao Games as the publisher is currently working on the Korean to English translation and localization. Further down the line, but hopefully way before release, German and French will follow. It is entirely possible that more languages will be added later but we have unfortunately no detail at this point.

The best balance imo is this based on rock/paper/scissors model. Especially in MMORPG where you can fully expand potential of this.

I'm curious if this has been discussed yet (probably no as it's quite early)...Will A:IR have a content creator program and if so will it be early in its life (Similar to Bless) or will it be really late (Similar to BDO)?

Exactly like Gameforge (and ncsoft) with Aion, we are fu-ck-ed in the end, by sellers and asian developers.
One acquaintance told me that people of gameforge know it and only want to milk until the game crumbles, it's true.

Don't fu-ck up like bless (in so many aspects), for example, with translation to English, I'm part of a team which is translating it to other language for free (thanks neowitz ¬¬) and the English doesn't make any sense, it's bloody ridiculous, people can't understand.

PW2 features completely set aside, I would like to say that one of the biggest complaints I see about BDO in the Western market is it's lack of PVE content -- and this may sound surprising, as fundamentally the game has a lot of PVE content to offer. However, most of the PVE content in BDO, such as trade runs, farming, fishing, horse training, and crafting, seemed designed to be done while AFK (requiring a massive amount wait-time and having built-in automatic options, like auto-fishing and auto-looping paths) and that was a massive mistake in the West. People like to actually play games rather than let games play themselves. If you design the game with massive time-sink mechanics that encourage players to just leave the game running while they sleep, rather than actually play it, it's going to lose a very huge chunk of the Western audience very quickly. Archeage offered the same variety of PVE content (fishing, farming, pet/mount raising and training) and the timing worked well with keeping the player engaged (at least until their labor ran dry, which a lot of people hated) rather than encouraging them to go take a nap and come back.

There are so many people in the West right now that are looking for a new game to call home, willing and eager to spend money on things like cosmetics (look at Warframe, as an example) and AiR can truly strike gold if you listen to the feedback of the Western market, which you guys seem to be doing a very good job of so far. Please take care to avoid things like P2W features in the West, optimization problems, unbalanced PVP, and lack of PVE content (or repetitive/time-gated PVE content)! These tend to be the primary downfalls of many Eastern games that come to the West.

Gamers in the West are incredibly mistrusting right now after many companies have gone back on their word or delivered something different than what was promised, like Bless. The West is brutal in holding companies to their words, so please be careful what you promise and be transparent with your public relations. From what I've seen, AiR has a ton of content and interesting gameplay to offer. I would really love to see the game flourish in the West. Thank you guys for doing your best and taking feedback from your Western fans!

    +1

A part of FFXIV community has a grudge against the game because of false promises.

Now, A:IR could be fantastic taking the best from other MMOs.

    //***********************************************************************************//
From my point of view, I assume not everybody will share the same but :
FFXIV (crafting, gathering, part of the aesthetics)
BDO (graphics, choregraphies, I love Lahn, aesthetics in general, housing, returning costumes from events, ok it is cashshop but at least they are returning)
    Aion (Twink)
    TESO (Housing)

Thought this list is not exhaustive. About gameplay, I like Aion (Twink, waving, jump cast), BDO. FFXIV is not that bad but GCD are boring.

What I wish they avoid : "hidden" crafting content as it is in FFXIV, used as an excuse to make people run content. Or glamour that ends in cashshop (full IG event or full cashshop but not this awfull mix that make it both unfair for late players and rerolls).

From what I saw A:IR character customization seem to offer a good balance between, Aion, FFXIV and TERA systems.
