When i say imaging a skill of assasins, what comes in ur mind? A tipical black trial of dust or some black colour skill. Witch, ever seen summoning a green/golden meteor falling from sky?Healer, ever seen a red healing sign or grass below ur feet?Thats what i want.Let us customize our own class skill colour. And if possible every inch of our character cloths( Just like Warframe). Lately i have been playing warframe and man, now tat i think bout it games can have so many different opportunies to improve. I can only hope for AIR that it could bring us that amount of customization level.I am going to play the game and iam not HATING on it,iam just suggesting my thoughts.

I actually see some value in allowing some more customization for the graphical effects. But also some serious issues with this, too, and you gave the perfect example: red healing signs.

So just imagine that you are in a boss battle and are used to accept green area effects as "good"(healing) and red as "bad"(boss damage). Now here comes a random healer who decides to colour all of his spells red and suddenly you can't discern whether the incoming ground effect will heal or kill you
Same for all other scenarios where you depend on quick identification of what is going on on your screen, where you need to know what your pvp enemy is casting, what aura he is running and what spells are coming your way. Red ice, blue fire? Black healing or shadow damage? Etc etc
And last but not least there is an issue with the actual variety of visual effects because the colour is a major differentiating element for all sorts of graphical effects what otherwise would look very same.

Therefore I'd say that the general idea is definitely worth considering for certain spells and abilities where a mix-up simply isn't possible, but for all others it should be avoided IMO. And for the sake of keeping it simply I have to vote against your suggestion in this current form.

What I would see as a much less issue-ridden improvement is making the spells and abilities look more powerful, impressive and prominent if you in some way upgraded the corresponding skill.
Fictional example: Elementalist can summon a meteor falling from the sky. The basic skill would look like a molten rock slamming into the ground. The upgraded skill would be a big flaming rock with some smaller rocks in tow falling down an igniting the area for 1-2 seconds. The maximally upgraded skill would summon a meteor shower coming down, looking like you just set off the Apocalypse and making the ground erupt in fire and lava, leaving behind a burning pool of molten material that does aoe damage for the duration of several seconds(8-10).

p.s.: Oh, totally missed your suggestion for colouring the costumes. This is definitely nice to have, so while I voted against your general suggestion in the poll, please have a like for this part.

Thanks for taking ur time replying tis.
Now,from pve perspective it might just be in case of boss battles where there are red patches before attacking, but i think its only in case of healer(or buffing skills). Thats what now players have to think about there energy colour either go with default colour or just dont use red colour. Or this issue might be solved by giving players only the darker colour shades as options of there default skill colour.
Now the pvp issue. Let the players have some small AI to look up into the enemy skills and its CD. I will let the developers decide how to make this possible.
Iam not good at explaining things but i hope u get the point. Ur question were also good. They had be thinking. And iam happy that u agreed with my costume point.
And i totally agree with u in the skill aweking.

Abilities visuals (skin/colour) should remain as they are in order to keep every class identity otherwise people would easily abuse that. I don't think we all want to see rainbows everywhere and high customization breaking the overall visibility of a spell animation that is supposed to be quickly identified in order to know what is happening and react accordingly as it is supposed to be in a PvX product.

@Ninja_Carnel. I like the idea, but I believe it needs to be implemented carefully to avoid the abuse other's mentioned in this thread. Also, I would want this type of customization to be low on the priority list for the time being. At least until we see what enhancements they worked on for the last year.

But again, I like the idea!

What I think would work really well without any big issues are the custom teleport animations, like hearthstone from WoW or the regular teleport scrolls from Tera, where there is some cast time involved and the animation is usually very simple.

Imaginable are animations like summoning the gates of heaven/hell, teleport from Thor movies, some fancy sci-fi/digital looking animations(ie teleport animations of Protoss from SC2). Or just some fancy dance animations, so that player characters could literally bow out and go back to town. Possibly good source of non-p2w income.
Maybe the animations could also involve the arrival part, so that players can both come and leave in style.

I could see those types of customization effects/animations working very well without much room for abuse for PvP or PvE cheesing/gain.
